To continue with the letting go process. How's it going for you? I know this much, it's not as easy as it sounds, at least for me. I work on it every day and am definitely having some success. I believe the more I'm conscious of "letting go" the more is given me to "let go" of. It's kind of like praying for patience. When I used to pray for patience because something was happening in my life that required patience on my part, the more things would happen requiring my patience. Does that make sense? Needless to say, I stopped praying for patience and started asking for help with handling whatever the situation was. It made a huge difference.

I sent out an email yesterday to all of my clients and potential clients with a very special offer. Because it's so hot here in Houston, I don't want to leave the comfort of my home so the offer is for telephone sessions.
Here's the offer: $25.00 for a 25 minute session I will be using The Body Code, which is the work that I do. If you're interested in getting healthier using alternative methods, this is your perfect opportunity to get started. You can read what my satisfied clients have to say and then check it out for yourself. Please go to my website, www.theholisticway.net and read all about it and then call, email or fill out the contact form to set up an appointment. This offer is only good until the end of June, so don't wait or you'll miss out. Something that has been weighing on my mind for awhile now is the process of "letting go." While I was talking with one of my best friends one day not to long ago, I was saying how I wanted to accomplish so and so. I won't mention it here because it doesn't really matter. She told me I was trying too hard and that it wasn't my fault that I had not been able to accomplish it so far. That lead to quite a discussion, because, between you and me, sometimes it takes me a little while to "get it", if you know what I mean. Why isn't it my fault, it's my goal, right? I should be doing absolutely everything I can to make it happen. Oops, there's that word, "make." By George I think I've got it! What she was telling me is that I can't "make" it happen, or anything as far as that goes.
The way I understand it, the simple answer is to state what your desired outcome or goal is, either in the form of prayer or meditation, or whatever you use for that purpose. I, myself use prayer (not that that matters to anyone but me). So, I pray about what I want, and then let it go, trusting that Heavenly Father will do his part and see that it happens. I'm going to put a little caviat here, and say, if it's in my highest and best interest. I know some of you are thinking why would we ask for something that is not in our highest and best interest. That's a good question, but, again in my opinion, sometimes we don't always ask for something that is good for us. I can't even give you an example, I just know it happens. In the meantime, I can't just sit back and wait for it to happen, I have to do my part, whatever that might be. The part that I haven't been doing so swell at is listening to what that little voice inside me is telling me to do. Some people call it intuition others call it something else, I call it the Spirit and then taking action. I'm going to leave it at that for now and pick it up here next time. In the meantime, my challenge to you (and myself) is to start writing down what that "little voice" is telling me and act on it. Have a wonderful week and please be sure and visit my website: www.theholisticway.net. Just a few thoughts before I go to bed. I was buying a plant at a neighborhood plant sale on Friday and the lady that was having the sale had forgotten something and I heard her say "I guess it's my alzheimer's." She actually said it a couple of times and I just couldn't stop myself from saying to her that she really shouldn't be saying things like that because she'll end up living up to it. Of course that opened up a whole conversation with the three people that were there. I explained to her that when we say things like "I can't remember anything," or "I forget everything," or anything similiar to that, it ends up being fulfilled. Just like the bible says, "as a man thinketh," I'm sure you've also heard the saying "what we think about, comes about," or "what we fear, we draw near."
For years, my Mother would say "I don't do well in the mornings." Guess what, she didn't do well in the mornings. Josephine, my wonderful sister-in-law's mother told my Mom one time the answer to her problem was "just don't get up until noon." I thought that was pretty funny, but I promise you, that was not the solution. I know you know where I'm going with this, so I'll keep it short. Anytime you catch yourself saying something like "I don't remember" or "I don't do well with math" (which is something I seem to say quite a bit), well, I'm human, too, or "it's my altzheimer's kicking in", please, please, please stop right then and there and turn it around and say just the opposite. Keep doing that each and every time and before long you'll see the change, it's pretty amazing how it works. I promise I'll do it, if you will....... Good night for now. Oh, one more thing, and I know this won't make some people happy, but it also happens when you talk about an illness or a disease or chronic pain, or anything of that nature. Whether it's something in the past or the present, every time you mention it or think about it, even in casual conversation, you're either living up to it or you're bringing it about. More later................ |
